What does our Governing Board do?

The function of the Governing Board is to uphold the Charter School's mission and vision, to set policy for the Charter School, to work collaboratively with school officials to ensure the Charter School complies with the performance goals set forth in Section 8 (Performance-based Goals, Measurable Objectives, and Consequences), to ensure effective organizational planning, and to ensure financial stability of the Charter School. 

Advisory Board Members 

Rep. Valencia Stovall

Serve as State Representative of Georgia with 8 years of experience.

23 years of experience in finance and business management.

            

Keesha Warmsby

Associate Attorney at BakerHostetler, LLP (Columbus, Ohio)

Specializes in consumer financial services issues and bank regulatory matters.

      

Bisi Aiyeola

Senior Risk Advisory specialist with Ernst & Young LLP

Specializes in Internal and Financial Audit IT Integration Audits.

 

Dr. L. Joy Baker

Board Certified general Obstetrician Gynecologist at the Upson Regional Medical Center in Thomaston, Georgia.

A native of Clayton County and a graduate of Riverdale High School.

Hilary Carruthers, MSW, DrPH Candidate

A children's welfare advocate for over 10 years, Ms. Carruthers brings a wealth of experience. She served as an international child welfare advocate in London, UK. She is pursuing her Doctorate in Public health with a focus on physical activity policies and practices in middle schools. She served as a non-profit program director for 7 years, garnering experience with federal grant programming, contract compliance, public education, and push-in services.

Sharon Stovall Daniel

Former state charter school board chair with 3.5 years of experience. Extensive experience starting a charter from the ground up including the onboarding process. Founded retail operations firm which managed operations for concerts and live sporting events including the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Hawks, two NFL Super Bowl Games, the 1996 Olympic Game. Retired from Stovall Enterprises, Inc, Manager & Sales Operator 24 years. Experience in Community Advocacy service for over 35 years.

Claude Mwanda, CPA, CFE

Over 20 years of proven leadership in audit, compliance and financial management from various business sectors: Private industry, International NGO, Federal, State, and Local Government

Dela Hoinso

Senior Risk Advisory specialist with Ernst & Young LLP. Specializes in Internal and Financial Audit IT Integration Audits.

Jazmin Briggs

Director of Marketing at Briggs Market Masters Inc. Holistic Lifestyle Coach at Jazz Up Your Life. Board member for Metro-Atlanta based non-profit for over ten years. Special needs student advocate and resident of Metro-Atlanta.

Marcus Norman

Entrepreneurship Comm. Chair

Owner of six Zaxby's in the Metro-Atlanta community. Community advocate and youth mentor serving in the Atlanta area for over 20 years. Mr. Norman will lead the entrepreneurial and apprenticeship track.
