What does our Governing Board do?

The function of the Governing Board is to uphold the Charter School's mission and vision, to set policy for the Charter School, to work collaboratively with school officials to ensure the Charter School complies with the performance goals set forth in Section 8 (Performance-based Goals, Measurable Objectives, and Consequences), to ensure effective organizational planning, and to ensure financial stability of the Charter School.

Dr. Hilary Carruthers, DrPH, MSW

A children's welfare advocate for over 10 years, Ms. Carruthers brings a wealth of experience. She served as an international child welfare advocate in London, UK. Doctorate in Public health with a focus on physical activity policies and practices in middle schools. She served as a non-profit program director for 7 years, garnering experience with federal grant programming, contract compliance, public education, and push-in services. 4 years charter school board experience

Marcus Norman

Owner of six Zaxby's in the Metro-Atlanta community. Community advocate and youth mentor serving in the Atlanta area for over 20 years. Mr. Norman will lead the entrepreneurial and apprenticeship track.

A native of Clayton County and a graduate of Riverdale High School.
